Facebook phishing scam snares company board member

Considering all the negative press lately about Facebook's
security and privacy policies, this was not a good time for a phishing
scam to wind up in the inboxes of investor Jim Breyer's Facebook friends.

Obama: iPod, iPad don't empower

In a commencement speech at Virginia's Hampton University, the
president offers that gadgets turn information into a distraction. He
also says he doesn't know how to use an iPod, iPad, Xbox, or PlayStation.

It's hard not to sympathize with his sentiment. Instant access to
instantly concocted information does put additional pressure on
everyone's critical faculties. Yet it also allows people better access
to opposing points of view, to opportunities of verification, to
asking their fellow humans for help and guidance.

Naturally, it's up to humans to choose to use gadgets that way. It's
up to humans to want to be more empowered, more emancipated, more
entertained by the notion of self- and world-betterment.

Asthma and COPD Inhalers That Contain Ozone-depleting CFCs to be Phased Out; Alternative Treatments Available

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced, in accordance
with longstanding U.S. obligations under the Montreal Protocol on
Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, seven metered-dose inhalers
(MDI) used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
(COPD) will be gradually removed from the U.S. marketplace. These
inhalers contain ozone-depleting chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), which are
propellants that move medication out of the inhaler and into the lungs
of patients. Alternative medications that do not contain CFCs are
      available. Read more...

Asthma
